Emily & Jared - The World's Cutest Couple Tie the Knot at Chateau Saint Martin

A wedding I worked at this year was featured in Vogue!!!!!!! (Can you tell I’m excited about it)

What made this wedding “Vogue-worthy”? Was it the beautiful design that went into every detail? The gorgeous venue nestled in the hills of the French Riviera? The jaw-dropping florals? The epic photography? Of course, it was all of those things combined and more!!

Emily & Jared

Emily & Jared (incidentally the man behind the famous Facebook tick symbol) were so lovely, kind, calm, and so obviously in love that we all couldn’t help falling in love with them both as well. It was a dream to work together with them to make their day extra special.

The Outfits

Emily designed her silk, off-shoulder wedding gown in collaboration with the stellar bridal wear team at One/Of based in New York. Emily wanted her dress to capture the essence of Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. What an epic trio of style icons! The sleek dropped waist bodice billowed out in a dramatic mermaid silhouette just above the knees. And the removeable wrap around detail at the shoulder was both beautiful and functional, as it allowed her to free her arms when it was time to boogey on the dance floor.

Over-sized gold earrings and a simple cathedral length veil in pure silk complemented her outfit perfectly.

Jared wore a custom Tom Ford suit, with satin lapel and cuff details in classic black. His stylish double bow tie completed this timeless groom look.

The Florals

There’s no way we can talk about Emily & Jared’s wedding without first talking about THOSE flowers!

Kiana and her team at Tulipina Flowers worked so hard to bring this floral dream to reality. It’s like a giant floral cocoon that you feel like you can lay down and make a nest in. Unfortunately, that’s kind of what the groom decided to do…

Averting Disaster!

It was about 15 minutes before the ceremony was due to begin and everything had gone swimmingly up to this point. I’d gone to retrieve the bride’s veil when I received an urgent phone call asking me to come and help with an outfit emergency.

When I returned to the ceremony I was greeted by completely shocked and panicked faces, and the groom standing there with his arms out covered in pollen! He has accidentally turned and stepped right into one of the floral displays. His custom Tom Ford suit was no longer black, but now graffitied with splashes of yellow!!

After screaming internally for a second, I got straight to work dabbing gently to remove the pollen being sure not to stain the suit. You can see the amazing wedding planners Mylene & Geoffrey of White Eden Weddings jumped in to the rescue as well. Working together, we managed to get Jared all cleaned up just in time for the ceremony.

Bridal Dressing

Fellow senior bridal dresser, Solene, and I arrived at Chateau Saint Martin on the morning of the wedding and (after enjoying a quick breakfast) we got to work arranging and preparing all the outfits for the bride, groom and the bridal party. Everything had to be pressed, steamed and returned to the correct room all in time for the bride, groom and their guests to be ready for the ceremony.

In a growing trend Emily chose not to have official bridesmaids, but had all her best girlfriends around her to help her get ready during the day. This meant her friends were able to choose their own outfits, which left them free to express their own unique sense of style.

And in amongst Jared’s groomsmen, a group of his closest friends, we spot a very chic grooms-lady! Proof that if the groom’s group of close friends includes a lady, there’s absolutely no reason why shouldn’t she be a part of his entourage as well!!

The Dinner and The Party

This wedding was all about the details. It was easy to tell that Emily and Jared, along with their powerhouse wedding planners, Mylene & Geoffrey of White Eden Weddings, had taken great pains to ensure every aspect of this wedding was simply exceptional. The stunning table settings featured candles with a pretty wave design in tones of cream and caramel. The dinner napkins, also provided by Gold Leaf Brides, were embroidered with the couple’s personalised monogram, a chic feature which also make a cute keepsake of the day.

The dinner was a true extravaganza. Guests followed the path from the ceremony to the dinner tent and were greeted by servers with canapes. Once inside the tent the explosion on the senses continued with a sumptuous menu and musical entertainment provided by the band throughout the evening. The tables dripped with flowers and the soft candlelight added to the cosy yet vibrant atmosphere.

As if that wasn’t enough Emily and Jared’s cake, designed and created by Made in Cake made it’s grand entrance lit up with sparklers. After all this excitement the couple slowed things down with an adorable slow dance for their first spin on the dance-floor as man and wife.

After the cake cutting and the couple’s enchanting first dance, the band and entertainment performers effortlessly kept the guests dancing, laughing, and making unforgettable memories well into the night!

The most memorable of weddings finally came to a beautiful end. I just love this final shot overlooking the party tent at Chateau Saint Martin.
