The obligatory COVID post

2020 is the year that will go down in history as the year we realised that yes, we probably should all be washing our hands after we sneeze, cough, or in any way touch our germ-riddled faces!

I visited Paris for the first time back in 2019 (yes, shocking I know). I was with a good friend, and everywhere we went she whipped out hand sanitiser for us to use before we ate or drank, or after we were forced to touch something that another human being may have touched. At the time I laughed at her over cautiousness but I complied all the same. After 4 days of this I’d become accustomed to the ritual and honestly I somewhat missed it when I returned home from dirty Paris to clean, shiny Nice 🤨. And I quickly returned to my old habits of touching a door handle and then touching my face, a foolhardy practice in today’s world.

Back in Spring of 2020 when you couldn’t buy Purell for love nor money, my friend took great pleasure in reminding me that she was the “OG” of hand sanitiser!

As shockingly difficult as we all found life in 2020 it opened up amazing opportunities for those willing to take a giant step out of their comfort zone. I took advice from other more well-established seamstresses on how to move forward with my business plan. Post-lockdown I also had the chance to collaborate with some exceptional female entrepreneurs on a spectacular photo shoot, more of which in another post.

In short, we were all handed a massive lemon in 2020. I only hope that you, like many others, found a way to make it into sweet, sweet lemonade.
