Winter Wedding Guest Style

As the summer sun fades and the temperatures start to fall, those of us in the bridal industry start to feel the season winding down.

And while the most popular months for getting married are between May-September, there are some of us (read: slightly crazy people) who decide to tie the knot in the Winter. I include myself in this list of crazy people. My husband and I walked down the aisle in November 2006, in England! It was 8°C.

To be perfectly honest, when we picked the date the last thing on my mind was worrying about what my guests would wear!

But now the tables have turned. My husband and I have been invited to attend a wedding this winter and I’ve been left thinking “how can I be warm all day and still look cute in photos?!”

Well I’ve done some research, so if you’re struggling with the same question, keep reading, I’ve got you covered!

Lovely Long Sleeves

Long sleeves give necessary warmth and comfort of chilly Autumn and Winter days. Opt for a sleek, fitted silhouette for a really classly look, or choose floral, mesh sleeves to add a dash of romance. And nothing says glamour like sumptuous velvet.

Cozy Cardigans

Worried about being being trapped in long sleeves all night long? Choose a sleeveless number and snuggle up with a cozy cardigan for outdoor photos. Or go for the full Old-Hollywood glamour look with a faux-fur stole, then whip it off and hit the dance floor!

Terrific Tailoring

If the dress code of the wedding allows for it don’t be afraid to go for a sleek, tailored suit jacket. Pair with a silk camisole and trousers, or skirt, or a tailored dress to give off gorgeous relaxed business chic vibes.

Cute Boots

And don’t forget that winter is the season where you can get away with wearing some super cute boots. Ankle boots, mid-thigh or thigh-high, they can all be dressed up with a gorgeous gown!
